The Proceedings of the Ohio Academy of History is a peer reviewed journal, published annually, comprising edited versions of the best papers presented at the Spring Meeting. Submissions are by nomination of panel chairs and commentators and undergo review by scholars in the relevant field(s) of the paper. Click on the links below for previous editions of the Proceedings.
What We Do
The Ohio Academy of History is made up of amateur and professional historians from universities, colleges, high schools, elementary schools, and the general public. It issues awards for outstanding publication, teaching, service, dissertations, and public history. It also monitors and comments on the dissemination of historical knowledge in Ohio's schools, colleges, and universities. In the fall, members of the Academy gather for a social hour and dinner, followed by a panel presentation or speaker. The Academy holds its annual business meeting during the spring accompanied by scholarly sessions on topics of historical interest.
