Daniel Winunwe Rivers is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at The Ohio State University. and an enrolled member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. He is a historian of LGBT communities in the twentieth century, Native American history, the family and sexuality, and U.S. social protest movements. Rivers received his PhD in history from Stanford University in 2006. He has served on the editorial board of the Journal of the Native American and Indigenous Studies Association and is a series editor at the University of Georgia Press. His first book, Radical Relations: Lesbian Mothers, Gay Fathers, and Their Children in the United States since WWII, published by the University of North Carolina Press in September of 2013,won the 2014 Ohio Academy of History book prize and the 2014 Grace Abbott Prize for the best book on the history of childhood and youth. He is currently at work on two projects, a history of LGBT and Two-Spirit Native Americans, from 1940 to the present and a history of lesbian feminist activism and communities from 1965 to 1990.
TWO-YEAR, REGIONAL COLLEGE
Associate Professor Bradley Keefer earned his PhD from Kent in 2006. His book, Conflicting Memories on the ‘River of Death’: the Chickamauga Battlefield in the Spanish-American War, 1863-1933 was published by the Kent State Press in 2013. Chapters on Civil War newspapers and Reenacting and Battlefield Preservation appear in Lesser Civil Wars: Civilians Defining War and the Memory of War, edited by Marsha Robinson, Cambridge Scholars Press, 2012. His most recent work is a chapter, “’They Did Their Duty with Honor:’ Civil War Reenacting and the Lost Cause,” in The Enduring Lost Cause: Afterlives of a Redeemer Nation, edited by Edward Crowther, University of Tennessee Press. 2020. He hopes to have his regimental history on the 104th Ohio ready for publication in Fall 2024.
He has taught at the Kent State Ashtabula Campus since January 2007 and is active in pre-1840 and Civil War living history with Company B, 8 th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. His service to the Ohio Academy of History includes several stints on the Nominating Committee and a seat on the current Executive Council.

Julie Mujic is an Assistant Professor of Global Commerce at Denison University. She teaches courses that explore the historical relationship between commerce and society. Her scholarly research focuses on Midwestern home front history during 19th and 20th century military conflicts. Dr. Mujic also serves as Assistant Director of Faculty Partnerships for Denison’s Knowlton Center for Career Exploration.
K-12 TEACHER
Donald Eberle received his Ph.D. in History from Bowling Green State University in 2013. He has taught as an adjunct at Bowling Green State University, Defiance College and Northwest States Community College, and since 2017 has U.S. and World History fulltime at Napoleon Area Schools. He has presented numerous papers at various. academic conferences. His paper delivered on April 15, 2023, will be his 14th at the Ohio Academy of History.
